Charles Dickens' third novel concerning the adventures on Nicholas Nickleby who, after the death of his father, is obliged to support his mother and sister.
This particular copy has the bookplate of Charles Fitch Kemp, a
Chartered Accountant, of Foxbush House, Hildenborough, Kent, England. He
died in 1907. A stained window on the north side in The Church of St. John the Evangelist,
Hildenborough commemorates him.
He was President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants 1894-96 and the first Chairman of the
Hildenborough Parish Council.
